Oushak Rugs also know as Ushak, Usak carpets date back to the 20th century. Oushaks are Turkish carpets that use a particular family of designs called by the convention after the city of Uşak, Turkey – one of the larger towns in Western Anatolia, which was a major center of rug production from the early days of the Ottoman Empire. Our Oushak rugs are made in Bhadohi, (India) a place that is one of the biggest rug manufacturing cities. Carpet weaving in the region dates back to the 16th century during the reign Akbar. The skilled artisans of Bhadohi have been carrying the tradition of rug-making for centuries.
